BSA Troop 89

Welcome to the online home for Pack/Troop/Crew 89.

We are located in Powder Springs, GA and we are a home school Scouting unit. You can find information about our units by using the menu at the top of the screen. If you are a member of 89 and have not registered on the website, you can now register by using the "Register" link on the User Login form. After approval, you will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the registration process.
Once you have logged in, please go to the "Your Details" link in the User Menu and update your profile.

As I mentioned at the Court of Honor on Tuesday night there are 2 important changes that you need to be aware of …

First, all fees for scouting will now be paid via your son’s Scout Bucks account.  This includes meals for campouts, annual dues, etc.
Second, annual dues will increase by $60 per scout.  Dues will be deducted from each Scout Bucks account in 3 payments on or before Sept 1^st, Dec 1^st and Apr 1^st.

Here is an example of how payments will be deducted for a family with 2 sons in the Troop:

The first Scout's dues include a subscription to Boy's Life magazine. If additional subscriptions are desired contact the treasurer.

Note that this should not increase a Scout’s annual expenses for participating in Troop activities, instead it will simply consolidate when and how payments are made.  A Scout’s meal or grub master fees will only be deducted from his Scout Bucks account as he participates in each campout.

Please be sure to keep a positive balance in your son’s account.  This can be done by participating in the Troop’s fundraisers (Popcorn sales & Pine straw sales), by check or online at the troop website (with a credit/debit card or PayPal account).
