High Adventure Canoe Trip

Multi-day canoe trip on the Edisto River in South Carolina.

This trip would be for Scouts and Dads (moms) over 14, Swimmer qualification, completed the Canoeing merit badge and an active member of the troop.

The proposed plan is to drive over on the afternoon of Wed. July 30. Start paddling Thursday morning at Kill Kare Landing on the North Fork Edisto. Take out on Sunday morning Aug 3, 2008 somewhere near Givhans Ferry State Park.

I have a tentative reservation for 6 canoes. The cost for canoes and shuttle works out to about $50 per person. That does not include food and gas.

If you are interested in going on this trip, contact Mr. Reece. We are limiting this trip to 16 people. You must pay the $50 deposit to Troop 89 by July 1st.

Here are some links about river canoeing. I highly recommend that you read these articles. Paddling down a river is much different than crossing Lake Allatoona.
